WBTF Searches for Trustee with Fundraising Experience

The Board have identified that We Build The Future is in need of a trustee with an interest in fundraising to help us develop an effective fundraising strategy. This will be to provide sustainable income in the medium to long term, which in turn will enable us to expand our charitable activities.

We are interested in candidates  from any background and any age who have an interest and understanding of some or all of the following:

  • Fundraising in general, but particularly in the charity sector
  • Developing fundraising strategies
  • Developing fundraising campaigns.

Board Member Expectations

Board trustees have all the responsibilities set out by the Charity Commission in having oversight of the running of the charity to ensure its governance is sound and it is working in accordance with the charities objectives.

The charity board meet using digital platforms at least four times per year, typically on Wednesday evenings and including reading papers this equates to a commitment of 10-12 hours per year. We also have monthly project meetings that all board members are welcome to attend.

Timing and Process

This is a rolling recruitment (no end date) which will remain open until a suitable candidate is appointed.

Once we have received your application it will be reviewed by the board and a 1 hour interview with three trustees using Microsoft Teams will be set up. Those trustees involved in the interview will make a formal recommendation to the board as to whether a candidate is well suited to becoming a trustee and should be invited to join the board.

Successful applicants will be formally offered the opportunity to become a trustee.
